Melbourne: Ricky Ponting’s dramatic victory over the epic battle of mercy. Ponting XI defeated Gilchrist XI by one run in a charity match organized to raise funds for Australia’s wildfire relief effort. Fifty-five crores of rupees were received from the competition.

Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar struck an over in the middle of the innings of Ponting XI. Tendulkar blasted the first ball he faced. Aussie women’s cricketer Elise Perry bowled against Tendulkar. Tendulkar bowled an over with Perry’s request.
