The Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative Movement, Dr. Mustafa Barghouthi, accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of trying to polish his image politically by promoting a possible meeting with the Saudi crown prince.
He said that the “Haaretz” report, which talks about a possible meeting between Benjamin Netanyahu and the Saudi crown prince, is placed within the framework of the crowd practiced by the Israeli Prime Minister, who is trying to save himself from the political defeat and pave the way for the so-called deal of the century after his meeting with the Sudanese Speaker of Parliament, Burhan.
Barghouti added in statements to “Radio Sputnik” that “what we know in this context is the denial of the Saudi side to this news, and that Saudi Arabia’s position is consistent with regard to the constants of the issue, and we ask him from all Arab countries is to stop any form of normalization with the Zionist enemy.”
There are pressures exerted on Saudi Arabia by the United States and its foreign minister to accept the Trump settlement, and to reverse the equation in the region by dragging the Arabs into regional conflicts with Turkey and Iran, which distracts any effort to resist the Israeli enemy.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, earlier, denied media reports of a possible meeting between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, amid speculation regarding the normalization of relations between the two countries.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan told Al-Arabiya television: “There are no plans to hold a meeting between Saudi Arabia and Israel,” in response to a report by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz. He added: “Saudi Arabia’s policy is very clear and the Kingdom stands with full force behind Palestine.”
