Mikaela Shiffrin will not be skiing for a while. The American top-skipper takes a short break after the sudden death of her father on Sunday. “Mikaela will stay at her home base Vail in Colorado. We don’t know yet when she will return to the World Cup,” the American ski federation said.
The 24-year-old multiple Olympic and world champion has already won a total of 66 World Cup competitions. She has conquered the general World Cup in the last 3 seasons and is again in the lead this season in the general World Cup standings and in the slalom. In the descent, super-G and giant slalom she is in the top three of the World Cup classification.
