Noa Lang was the celebrated man at FC Twente on Saturday evening, after he managed to score his first goal in Twente service against Sparta Rotterdam. The mercenary of Ajax was therefore named man of the match. Opposite FOX Sports the twenty-year-old rental player looks back on the game.
Lang scored by cutting in from the left side of the penalty area and working the ball past the keeper in the short corner. He did that consciously, he says afterwards. “When I go inside, keepers blindly think the ball is going to the far corner,” he explains. ‘So I always take a shot between the legs in the short corner. I often do that during training. Jeffrey de Lange (former Ajax, ed.) Also came to me and said: I knew you were going to do this.”
His goal, the 2-0 in injury time, is Lang’s first goal in the service of FC Twente. Yet it is already his fourth goal in the Grolsch Veste, the stadium of the national champion of 2010. At the beginning of December, the offside player in the service of Ajax already scored three times in the 2-5 win with the Twente players. “I like it at this stadium, you can say,” Lang laughs. “Hopefully many more are coming.”
Lang completed the ninety minutes on Saturday and that is the first time this season in the Eredivisie. He indicates that he is quite tired after the game. ‘It was pretty tough, but that’s only good for me. I now learn to really fight and today, I have to admit, I really felt like my legs. I think it’s only good for me. ”
