Flemish Deputy Prime Minister Hilde Crevits (CD&V) sees no merits in the visit of Prime Minister Jan Jambon (N-VA) to the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Crevits points out that the meeting will take place in the context of a cultural visit by the Flemish government leader to Budapest. “It can also be an opportunity to express your concerns,” Crevits said on Radio 1 on Friday.
Jan Jambon travels to Hungary on Wednesday for a cultural trip, with an economic and political component. The main goal is an expo with the Flemish masters in Budapest, but Jambon will also have a meeting with the controversial Orban. Thursday came criticism from the left opposition. Coalition partner CD&V is not worried. “Not speaking is not an option,” says Crevits.
