Frenkie de Jong made an important contribution on Sunday with a great goal to a 2-3 win for FC Barcelona at Real Betis. Earlier in the day, leader Real Madrid recorded his fifth win in a row in La Liga against Osasuna: 1-4.
After nine minutes, Frenkie de Jong took care of the Barcelona 1-1 against Betis. The Orange-international started the attack itself, then took a nice pass from Lionel Messi beautifully and worked the ball in from close range. He made his second league goal of the season.
Shortly before, Sergio Canales had opened the score for a penalty kick for Betis after hands of Clément Lenglet. Halfway through the first half, Nabil Fekir again gave the home team the lead with a hard shovel, but at half-time Sergio Busquets restored the balance with a shot.
Lenglet made the winning goal for Barcelona almost twenty minutes before the end with a header from a free kick by Messi. The French defender received his second yellow card seven minutes later. A few minutes earlier, Betis also had to move on with ten men through a second yellow card for Fekir.
Due to the victory, number two Barcelona will remain in the track of Real Madrid. The backlog of the Catalans on the arch rival remains three points.

Real records fifth win in a row
Real, surprised by Real Sociedad (4-3) in the Copa del Rey mid-week, fell behind Osasuna after fifteen minutes with a goal from Unai García. Even before half-time, the visitors turned that deficit into a lead through goals from Isco and Sergio Ramos.
Isco took care of the equalizer after more than half an hour with a volley and moments later Ramos headed in the 1-2. The Spanish routinier thus scored for the seventeenth calendar year in a row in La Liga.
Real secured the three points in the final phase. Substitute Lucas Vázquez increased the margin six minutes before time and Luka Jovic set the final score in injury time with a hard shot after he had taken in four minutes earlier.

Substitute De Jong loses with Sevilla
Luuk de Jong failed to win with Sevilla. The striker, who came in more than fifteen minutes before time, went down with his team 2-1 to visit Celta de Vigo.
Sevilla was in the lead for a long time thanks to a hit by Youssef En-Nesyri, but gave away the victory in the final quarter. Iago Aspas signed for the tying run, after which Pione Sisto made the win for Celta in injury time.
Because of the defeat, Seville drops to fifth place. The team has as many points as number four Atlético Madrid, but a less goal difference.
