Changing of the guard at the International Space Station

Expedition 61 comes to an end at the International Space Station, and, with the arrival of the new expedition, new names appear in the foreground of space exploration. The members of Expedition 62 depart for the Earth’s orbit.

Until now it was Luca Parmitano, a member of the European Space Agency (ESA), who was in charge of the expedition leading the IEE projects, the Expedition 61. But during the February 5 delivery ceremony, the Italian delegates the IEE command to the Russian engineer Oleg Skrípochka, from Roscosmos.
