Canada evacuates 188 more citizens in China due to epidemic


Canada has announced that it has evacuated 188 more citizens who are stranded by the new type of coronavirus outbreak in China.

Canada Foreign Minister Fran├žois-Philippe Champagne said in a statement coronaviruses reported that 130 Canadian citizens waiting in the Hubey province of China, where there was an outbreak, were released with 58 family members.

Champagne stated that the aircraft carrying 188 people were brought to the quarantine zone established at the military facility in the city of Trenton, Ontario.

The last group of 188 people brought to the country will be quarantined for two weeks at the Trenton Military Base, along with 213 Canadian citizens in the first group evacuated from Wuhan last week.

Canadian Public Health Agency Chief Dr. Theresa Tam also explained that the 25-person flight crew on the plane that made the final evacuation was checked, safely released from quarantine because they did not spend time in the center of the epidemic and followed the appropriate infection prevention and control.

The number of cases in Canada rose to 7

Meanwhile, the number of cases infected with coronavirus in Canada rose to 7. According to Canadian Ministry of Health data, 4 of the cases are in Ontario and 3 in British Columbia.

Canadian International Development Minister Karina Gould announced that she was donated $ 2 million to the World Health Organization to assist in the work carried out for the coronavirus outbreak.

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, approximately 16 tons of personal protective equipment, clothes, face shields, masks, glasses and gloves were sent to China.
