In the interior of Bacalar elements of poplar and copper were used
Bentley has released a photo that gives an idea of the interior of the new Bacalar Grand Tour, which will be the most expensive model in the British brand’s model range. The premiere of the $ 2 million car will take place at the Geneva show in early March.
According to preliminary data, the model will be a grand open-top turret built on the basis of the Continental GT. The convertible will be developed by specialists from the Mulliner’s Atelier, who will create their own car with a unique bodywork for the first time since 2002.
In addition, the model will only be in the second two-seater car produced by the British company in the last 90 years (the first was the Bentley Speed Six, whose production was discontinued in 1930). And the published image in a way confirms the connection between Bacalar and the new prototype, which Mulliner will also show in Geneva, based on the acclaimed EXP 100 GT concept.
Unique materials were used to make the interior of Bacalar. It is alleged, for example, that elements of a relic multilayered poplar with copper parts inserted into it will appear in the salon. In addition, potential buyers will receive a set of exclusive bags with the car.
The Bacalar will be fitted with a 6-liter W12 twin-turbine engine that, for example, with the new Flying Spur and Continental GT, develops 635 horsepower and 900 Nm. It will work in tandem with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Bacalar is expected to be faster than the Continental GT, which accelerates from standstill to 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds.
Bentley Bacalar will only be offered to buy “a very small number of the most respected customers” of the company. According to preliminary data, the circulation of the model will be limited to 10-12 pieces.
