“Ajax and Sao Paulo reach agreement on transfer Antony to Amsterdam”

Antony is on his way to Ajax. The people of Amsterdam are in agreement with Sao Paulo about the transfer fee. Player policy director Marc Overmars has placed an increased bid in Brazil, reports UOL Esporte. The transfer is almost complete.

There is currently a bid of twenty million euros on the table. In addition, five million in bonuses can be added and another five million for twenty percent of the transfer rights that Sao Paulo still has from David Neres.

The total transfer fee can therefore amount to thirty million euros, but then Sao Paulo has to forgo part of the transfer fee for Neres, should the Brazilian be sold. That was an important condition for the Brazilian club to let Neres go to Ajax in 2017.

Sao Paulo is very keen to sell players to get their financial affairs in order. A million transfer from Antony to Ajax is a good thing for the club. The Sao Paulo club management was in the Netherlands this week to negotiate with Overmars. Antony can sign in Amsterdam for five years.
It is not yet completely round, but white smoke is in sight. Ajax wanted to get Antony to Amsterdam in the winter so that he could acclimatize for six months. Sao Paulo, however, did not agree with the offer made by Overmars.
