A 19-year-old man who was trying to blow up a car near the Pentagon was arrested by US police.
The US Department of Justice said a man from Arkansas was trying to blow up a car near the Pentagon, according to Sputnik.
It is recalled that the suspect’s name is Matthew Richardson and he is 19 years old. He was arrested Monday in the Pentagon parking lot.
“Richardson is said to have been parked next to the car, trying to set fire to a piece of cloth placed inside the gas tank with a cigarette lighter,” said a police official.
“After the officer approached Richardson, the defendant told him he was going to blow up the car,” it said.
Subsequently, the suspect tried to flee, but was arrested.
“According to court documents, the owner of the car is a soldier and is not familiar with Richardson,” the office said.
