Everything is still possible in the battle between KV Kortrijk and Antwerp for the second final ticket of the Beker van België. We spoke to an ex-player from each camp and asked why their ex-team will advance to the next round. Stijn De Smet and Cisse Severeyns speak.
Stijn De Smet – KV Kortrijk
“Kortrijk is in a good flow. After what they have shown against Club Brugge, you have to conclude that they are mentally strong. Otherwise you will not come back from 0-2 against such a team. It just runs the last few weeks.
The home advantage will of course also play a role and not to forget the field. That is not great and they are used to play on it. All hope is in the cup final, otherwise it can turn out to be a lean season. With Moffi they now seem to have found a new spearhead. “
Cisse Severeyns – Royal Antwerp FC
“If you had asked me before the first match how much chance Antwerp had to go to the final I would have said 75%. After the 1-1 at home that is only 55%. So I still give Antwerp the advantage, because they have more quality and that is nevertheless a decisive factor.
But only with that you do not win any matches or tournaments. The good starting position of a defensively cooked Kortrijk and the absence of Dieumerci Mbokani play to the disadvantage of the visiting team. Antwerp has to look for a goal and I think it will only be 1-2 after extensions. ”
