The end of the winter mercato will be particularly busy for Zulte Waregem. It turned out late Thursday night with the arrival of Jelle Vossen, but it will not normally stop there. There are still a number of deals in the Gaverbeek pipeline, although Essevee will not be able to realize all the transfers that have been hoped for.
According to The Latest News, we can still expect two deals. The newspaper knows that Jean-Luc Dompé is taking his medical tests at Essevee, that the flank attacker is definitively taking over from AA Gent. The Frenchman will soon sign a contract for 3.5 years. On the outgoing side, Dimitri Oberlin appears to be on his way to Hajduk Split, although it is possible that Zulte Waregem is still leasing him through after 31 January in a market that is still open.
For two other players there is less good news. The superfluous Nikos Kainourgios settled in the Rainbow Stadium again. The Greek has been testing at Chicago Fire in recent days, but was unable to decorate a contract there. There may also be no transfer for Marco Bürki. FC Luzern tries to get him in, but the clubs still did not reach an agreement. The chance that this will happen on time seems rather small and so the Swiss may remain until the end of the season.
