Today, Wednesday, the Turkish presidency issued a statement to comment on the “Deal of the Century” announced by US President Donald Trump to settle the conflict between the Palestinians and Israelis.

The Turkish presidential spokesman, Ibrahim Qalan, said that his country “rejects the alleged peace plan announced by the United States of America on Palestine.”
“It is a unilateral plan that ignores the rights of the Palestinian people,” they said, adding, “It is a new occupation plan that ignores the existence and history of the Palestinian people,” according to the Anatolia agency.

“We reject this unilateral plan, which ignores the rights of the Palestinian people and international law.”

He also stressed “the need for Israel to end the occupation policies in the region, in order to achieve peace and security,” calling on the international community to reject the Trump plan “that eliminates the two-state solution and perpetuates the occupation forever.”

On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump announced the proposed peace plan between the Palestinians and Israelis, known in the media as the “Deal of the Century”, in the presence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the ambassadors of Oman, the Emirates and Bahrain.

Trump’s plan says: “The deal of the century will recognize Israel as a Jewish state, work towards a two-state solution, recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Jordan Valley, and make $ 50 billion in investments for the Palestinian state.”
