The government extended the Lunar New Year holiday. More large companies closed their doors or asked employees to work from their homes in an attempt to limit the spread of the disease.
The WHO has described corona or coronaviruses as “a large group of viruses, which cause disease ranging from common cold to more severe diseases.”
Common symptoms of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, coughing, shortness of breath and difficulty breathing.
In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.
Coronaviruses are transmitted between animals and people, and there are many known coronaviruses that currently circulate between animals, and that have not yet infected humans.
Last Wednesday, the World Health Organization held a meeting after an announcement issued by the Chinese National Health Authority that the new virus, which first appeared there, could be transmitted from person to person, to determine whether a health emergency should be declared worldwide.
