An “intentional homicide” investigation was launched after a hotel employee discovered a lifeless body with a chest wound. An abandoned knife was found in this same room.

Lying on a bed, a body was discovered on January 30 by an employee of a hotel near Lille Flandres train station, reports the news site Actu.fr. The body of this 40-year-old man had a chest wound.

The media reports that the possible murder weapon – a hunting knife – was found not far from the body.

An investigation into willful homicide has been opened during which the police will have to determine whether the victim arrived alone at the hotel.
