“FC Nantes talent must replace Janssen injured at FC Utrecht”

After attracting Jeroen Zoet and Kristoffer Peterson, FC Utrecht hopes to strengthen itself with another player before the end of the transfer market. The current number seven in the Eredivisie would be interested in the French talent Thomas Basila.

20-year-old Basila is a defender and is seen as a great talent at his current club FC Nantes. According to The Telegraph FC Utrecht sees him as the ideal replacement for the injured captain Willem Janssen, who will not play again this season.
Basila would be seen by the club from the Domstad as a player who can still develop considerably and therefore fits into the future plans of the club of coach John van den Brom. If the French defender actually lands in Utrecht, then Basila is the next name in the list of players who move from France to FC Utrecht. Previous purchases from France such as Sébastien Haller and Nicolas Gavory were eventually resold for a good price.
While Utrecht is still looking around for reinforcements, the necessary players have also left during the last transfer period. For example, on a rental basis we said goodbye to Giovanni Troupée, Rico Strieder and Patrick Joosten, while goalkeeper David Jensen and striker Simon Makienok left definitively from Galgenwaard stadium.
