The health of Daley Blind is going in the right direction, assures Ajax watcher Mike Verweij of De Telegraaf. The 29-year-old defender has been offside since mid-December, after he was diagnosed with a heart muscle infection.

Blind suddenly collapsed during the Champions League duel with Valencia and has been resting since then. However, his recovery is going well, Verweij says in the football podcast from his employer. “The signals about Daley Blind are very favorable, very positive. It seems to be heading in the right direction,” said the Ajax watcher. “But it is not expected that he will make his return before the end of February.” Whether Blind can still take action this season, remains to be seen.
Andre Onana faced a smaller injury oath and had to miss the FC Groningen match. However, against PSV, the closing post from Cameroon will be able to give an appearance again, Verweij expects. “He has already been doubtful four times before an important match. He could have played against FC Groningen. Then he shouted the day before, but then they did not take the risk. So I assume he will be back against PSV is there. ”
Ajax and PSV kick off at 4.45 pm on Sunday afternoon.
