New Delhi: A tractor rally was organized by farmers in the capital today on the occasion of the 72nd Republic Day against agricultural laws. But, the rally has now taken a violent turn. Clashes between police and farmers’ agitators have escalated due to obstructions by Delhi Police. Attempts were made to throw stones and tractors at the police. Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck. The farmers have marched on the red fort and the flag of the peasant movement has been hoisted on the red fort. As a result, the movement took a violent turn.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on his Twitter account appealed to farmers not to be violent. He also suggested that the Modi government should immediately repeal these three agricultural laws. Rahul tweeted that violence is not the solution to any problem. Let anyone be harmed, the loss will be to our own country. “Return anti-agriculture laws in the interest of the country,” Rahul said on his Twitter account.
Violence is not the solution to any problem. If anyone gets hurt, the damage will happen to our country.
Take back the anti-agricultural law for the national interest!

Samyukta Kisan Morcha had claimed that 5 lakh farmers along with 2.5 lakh tractors would participate in the march marching from three different places. However, only 5,000 tractors and the same number of protesters have been allowed to participate in the protest by the Delhi Police. All the three rallies were to be held from 12 noon to 5 pm. Police have also beaten the farmers and fired tear gas canisters. Because of this, farmers are said to be aggressive. For the last 2 months there has been a very restrained and non-violent agitation of the farmers. However, the agitation in Delhi has taken a violent turn due to the breach of farmers’ restraint.
