Serum Institute of India applies for trials of another COVID 19 vaccine


Pune, PTI The Serum Institute of India (SII) has prepared another corona vaccine. Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawala said on Saturday that his company has applied for another COVID-19 vaccine trial and hopes to launch it by June 2021. This vaccine from the Serum Institute of India (SII) is named COVOVAX.

The company’s CEO Adar Poonawala tweeted that the company’s partnership for the vaccine with Novavax has yielded good results. The Serum Institute of India has also applied to start trials in India. He expects to start COVOVAX by June 2021. Novavax released preliminary results from the test on Thursday. With this, he said that if this vaccine is approved, it will be the third vaccine in the country.

Please tell that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started a vaccination campaign of Corona in the country since 16 January. This vaccination is the world’s largest campaign, with a priority of about 30 million healthcare and frontline workers.

The Covishiled vaccine, co-developed by Oxford University and the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca, has already been produced. The central government has purchased 11 million doses of the Covishield vaccine for the vaccination of Corona.
