Nikhil’s body will leave Jammu and Kashmir for Delhi today and will be taken to his hometown Saidpur. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has paid tributes to Nikhil on Twitter.
According to information received, Nikhil was shot during an encounter with the terrorists. He was later rushed to a hospital. But they died heroically. He had moved from the base camp to Uri two days earlier. Nikhil, 19, had his first posting at Uri. According to the family, he returned from duty on January 13 and returned to duty. The news that followed has spread mourning across the village along with the family.
