Hospice. Tibetan cleric Dalai Lama has congratulated Joe Biden on becoming President of the United States. In his congratulatory message sent to President Biden, the Dalai Lama wrote, “I am very pleased that you are raising the issue of climate change to your highest priority and the United States is rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement.” Global warming is an urgent threat to the entire world and to the survival of our species.
He said I also commend you for the other measures that you are taking towards the betterment of the United States. I have been a stronghold of your great country, freedom, democracy, religious freedom and rule of law for a long time. The entire world holds its hope in the democratic vision and leadership of the United States. In these challenging times, I believe you will contribute to shaping a more peaceful world in which people suffering from hunger, disease and violence can help. There is indeed a need to address these issues.
The Dalai Lama said that once again, I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the Tibetan people for your long standing support. It has been our privilege to have enjoyed the friendship and encouragement of the American people and their leaders in our effort to protect and preserve our ancient Buddhist culture, a culture of peace, non-violence, and compassion. The Dalai Lama concludes I pray for your success in facing the challenges that lay ahead in fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of all Americans and contributing to a more peaceful and harmonious world.
