Chennai : The four-match Test series between India and England is just one week away. International cricket will be played in India for the first time after Corona. Team India has been announced for the first 2 Tests against England. Both the matches are being played in Chennai. England will play 4 Tests, 5 T20s and 3 ODIs in India.
England are on a tour of India. The four-match Test series between the two teams starts in Chennai on February 5. Skipper Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya have returned from the Test series. Team India players will be quarantined for a total of 6 days at the Leela Palace Hotel in Chennai.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday (January 28) announced the umpires for the first two Tests. It includes umpire Nitin Menon from the ICC’s elite panel. Apart from him, two new umpires will be making their debuts through these matches.
Apart from Menon, Anil Chaudhary and Virender Sharma have been selected for the Tests in Chennai, according to the popular cricket website Cricketbuzz. Therefore, he will make his debut in Test cricket.
In the first Test between February 5 and February 9, Chaudhary will be seen punching with Menon. Sharma will be responsible for the second Test from February 13 to February 17. Former Indian cricketer Javagal Srinath, on the other hand, will be the referee for both the matches. Both the matches will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
