Somaiya has said that the Shiv Sena leader who was linked to the PMC scam is a former MP. But who is this leader? This has not been clarified by Somaiya. Somaiya has demanded an inquiry into the PMC scam leader and his family members. Therefore, the leader is now likely to be questioned by the Directorate of Recovery (ED).
What is the matter?
According to sources, Housing Development Infrastructure Limited (HDIL) is responsible for the PMC Bank scam. Guruashish Construction Pvt Ltd is a subsidiary of HDIL. Praveen Raut was a director in the same company. As a director, he diverted Rs 1.60 crore from HDIL’s account to his wife Madhuri’s account. Out of this Rs 1.60 crore, Madhuri gave Rs 55 lakh to Varsha Raut as an interest free loan. With that money, Varsha bought a flat in Dadar. All these developments took place during 2010-11. Later, HDIL sank PMC Bank’s debt of Rs 6,670 crore. PMC Bank collapsed out of it. This is being investigated by the ED. Varsha Raut was questioned for more than four hours yesterday.
