Mumbai Local Train Big Update: Great news! All local trains allowed from February 1 – Mumbai local trains to start from February 1


Mumbai: The suburban railway service in Mumbai, which was closed for the last ten months due to the Corona crisis and has been running for a limited number of passengers since then, will be open to all from February 1. However, travel times will be limited. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has instructed to start local services for common commuters at times when there will be no congestion. The State Government’s Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation Department has published a leaflet in this regard. While ordering to start local services for all, the government has also appealed to various offices and establishments in Mumbai and suburbs to improve working hours for the convenience of Mumbaikars.

A meeting was recently held at Varsha under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to start local train services for all in Mumbai within the stipulated time. Senior railway officials were also present. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had instructed to ensure that there would be no rush to start suburban services for all commuters and that health rules would be followed.

When to travel:

All passengers will be able to travel from the first local in the morning till 7 am and also from 12 noon to 4 pm and from 9 pm to the last local.

Never travel:

Ordinary passengers will not be able to travel on suburban train services from 7 am to 12 noon and from 4 pm to 9 pm. During this time only previously specified categories of passengers will be able to travel.

Times for restaurants and shops

Shops and establishments in Mumbai and Mumbai metropolitan area will be kept open till 11 pm and restaurants will be kept open till 1 pm. It has also been clarified that the requirement of maximum 30 per cent attendance of employees for shops as well as SOP issued from time to time for restaurants and food courts will be implemented.
