New Delhi, 30 January (Language) The Delhi High Court has held that the Chambers of Lawyers are for their use and those who have been allotted such chambers have no right to sell or transfer them in any way. Justice Pratibha M Singh said that the transfer of rights in the Chambers is contradictory to the law and cannot be allowed. The court directed the New Delhi Bar Association (NDBA) to present them in the Patiala House court here if there are any specific rules or decisions related to the allocation and transfer of the chambers.

New Delhi, 30 January (Language) The Delhi High Court has held that the Chambers of Lawyers are for their use and those who have been allotted such chambers have no right to sell or transfer them in any way. Justice Pratibha M Singh said that the transfer of rights in the Chambers is contradictory to the law and cannot be allowed. The court directed the New Delhi Bar Association (NDBA) to present them in the Patiala House court here if there are any specific rules or decisions related to the allocation and transfer of the chambers. This instruction was issued on the application of advocate Kuldeep Kumar. Kumar had requested the NDBA to issue interim directions for furnishing some documents. Kumar said the documents are necessary for the decision on his petition challenging the bar association’s request to be transferred to the chamber allotted to his father.
