Telecom Department accepts proposal of Telecom Regulator TRAI

Now to call a mobile number from a landline, you have to put Zero (0) before the number, because from January 1, 2021, the way of calling on mobile is going to change. The Telecom Department has accepted the proposal of TRAI, the telecom regulator. Which will be implemented nationwide from 1 January 2021. On 29 May 2020, TRAI had recommended zero before mobile number. This will help the telecom operators to create more and more new numbers.

There will be a facility to make sufficient numbers

In a circular issued on 20 November, the Department of Telecommunications said that TRAI’s recommendations to change the way of dialing the number from landline to mobile have been accepted. This will facilitate the creation of sufficient numbers for mobile and landline services.

To customers Zero dialing facility

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) said that telecom telecom companies will have to provide the facility of dialing Zero to all landline customers. This facility is currently available for making calls outside your area ie STD. Telecom companies have been given time till January 1 to adopt this new system.

254.4 crore additional number will be generated

This new way will help telecom companies to generate 254.4 crore additional numbers for mobile services. Which will meet future needs. TRAI has recommended to implement the Revised National Numbering Plan (NNP) at the earliest. The number of mobile subscribers is increasing rapidly, in fact the number of mobile subscribers is increasing rapidly, for this more and more new numbers will be required. Therefore, TRAI has proposed to increase the number of mobile numbers from 10 to 11. Which will help in creating several crore new numbers.
