Pune: Pune-based builder Aniruddha Deshpande has bid for the purchase of the Lavasa Hill Station project, which has come under discussion due to violation of environmental norms and illegal construction. The Lavasa project came under financial scrutiny after the Union Environment Ministry took action. So the discussion of the sales deal of this project started. Along with Deshpande, two other companies from Delhi and Gurgaon have also bid.
The Lavasa project, a senior leader Sharad Pawar’s ‘dream project’, was in the midst of controversy from the very beginning. The sale of the project is now under the jurisdiction of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). The bids of the three companies that came forward for the purchase of the Lavasa project are expected to be decided by the end of December. Pune-based builder Aniruddha Deshpande, who came forward to buy the Lavasa project, had earlier invested in the project in 2007. He later sold his shares to Hindustan Construction Company. Meanwhile, Lavasa Corporation Limited owes about Rs 5,000 crore to various financial institutions. It is also said that those who bought property in Lavasa owe about Rs 400 crore.
I have bid with a fund company in the US to buy the Lavasa project. But this process of transaction is very time consuming. . ”
