In the 1990s, a large number of orchards were planted in Kullu, Mandi, Solan, Chamba Sirmaur districts in Himachal Pradesh, but due to lack of technical knowledge, horticulture of Kiwi fruit did not prove to be as beneficial as it had potential. The main reason for this was the reduced quality of fruits, which were less neglected than those imported from abroad.
