- The BJP will not survive without the people coming down – Balasaheb Thorat
The Hathras incident in Uttar Pradesh has embarrassed the country and the Congress has accused the Yogi government of handling the matter in a very irresponsible manner. Also, the state Congress will hold a statewide satyagraha on Monday (Dec. 5) to bring justice to the family of the victim of Hathras, informed Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee Chairman and Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat.
Speaking on the occasion, Thorat said that women and girls are not safe in the BJP-ruled state. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who chanted the slogan ‘Save my daughter’, is silent. The Congress party will hold a statewide satyagraha on Monday to demand an answer from the egocentric BJP government in Uttar Pradesh and bring justice to the victims. Satyagraha will be held at all the district headquarters in the state. We will personally participate in the Satyagraha in Mumbai, said Thorat.
The arrogant and authoritarian tendencies of Yogi Adityanath have hung the shackles of democracy on the door. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi were pushed to the ground. Protesting against the repression of the Uttar Pradesh government, Congress workers took to the streets across the country, including Maharashtra. Eventually, the UP government allowed Rahul and Priyanka to visit the victim’s family.
BJP will bring down the masses
Congress workers were beaten while visiting the families of the victims. Mastwal male police officers went to the extent of handing over the clothes of Priyanka Gandhi, the general secretary of the All India Congress Committee. This shows the low level of mentality of Yogi Adityanath government towards women. This is the maze of power and this maze of BJP will not last without the people coming down, said Thorat.
