A new selection committee headed by selection committee chief Sunil Joshi has clarified his role in keeping Pantla out of the team. For the last two years, Pant was considered to be Dhoni’s successor. The BCCI had publicly stated that Pant would be Dhoni’s successor and he would be given ample opportunity. But Pantla could not take advantage of the opportunity given by the BCCI. Things got so bad that he lost his place in ODIs and T20s.

Coincidentally, KL Rahul was made the wicketkeeper earlier this year and has now taken over the post. The National Selection Committee has been frustrated by Pant’s growing weight. The committee had also warned him about this.

The committee headed by Sunil Joshi is unhappy with Pant’s growing weight. Weight loss will be followed by fatigue and constant tiredness. Increased weight can be a problem for a wicketkeeper. Even now, Pant’s weight seems to have increased in the IPL.

According to BCCI sources, Pantla could get a chance in the ODI and T20 tour of Australia if needed. But for now, he has to work on his fitness. Weight loss will be followed by fatigue and constant tiredness. It is understood that Pant could be included in the Australia tour if there are any requirements.
