Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar made a big statement on the Maratha quota on Friday. He said that the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) had made its stand clear on the matter. At the same time, he did not answer questions related to his son’s tweet on this politically sensitive issue. Ajit Pawar said that all communities eligible for reservation in jobs and education should get its benefits.

In fact, in a series of tweets on Wednesday night, his son Partha Pawar had said that he would petition the Supreme Court for intervention on the Maratha quota case. Asked about son Parth Pawar’s tweet, Ajit said that my sister Supriya Sule has already clarified the stand on this and we have also made it clear that this is not the attitude of NCP at all.

On repeatedly questioning Parth’s tweet, Ajit said that whenever a tweet comes, I am questioned every time, but I have a lot of work to do. I have many other responsibilities in the state. He said that all people are free to think and tweet on any subject.

Sharad Pawar has also clarified his stand on Maratha reservation. He said on Friday that the state government was in favor of Maratha reservation. The government will present its case in the Supreme Court on this issue.
