‘The situation is dire because of Corona. It was closed for several days, so people were hit financially. It is not affordable to close again. ‘
Mumbai 02 October: Politics is hot again in Maharashtra over the issue of Maratha reservation. Maratha organizations have demanded that the state government take immediate decision to lift the Supreme Court stay. The Maratha Reservation Struggle Committee has called for a Maharashtra Bandh on October 10 to put pressure on the government. However, MP Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje has said that he does not support this bandh. He also said that nothing will be achieved due to such closure.
Sambhaji Raje said, the situation is dire because of Corona. It was closed for several days, so people were hit financially. Now it is not affordable to close again. This declaration is not supported by the society. He also said that such agitations are not beneficial.
Meanwhile, some ministers have now taken an aggressive stance on the issue of Maratha reservation. Cabinet Minister Vijay Vadettiwar has appealed directly to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to be careful not to upset the 52 per cent OBC community. Vadettiwar said that it was decided to give reservation to the Maratha community from the EWS quota. It was decided to give justice to the poor community but the issue needs to be discussed for 52 per cent OBCs. He also stressed that reservation is not possible for the Maratha community from the quota of OBCs.

We are not against giving reservation to the Maratha community in education and jobs, but if the reservation is given from the OBC reservation quota, a warning was given by the representatives of the OBC community in a press conference held in Pune today. The OBC Sangharsh Sena has warned that it will boycott the polls if the people’s representatives and parties take a silent stand on it.
It was also warned that if reservation is given to the Maratha community in the OBC reservation, 52% of the OBC community will take to the streets and OBC brothers will agitate to defend the OBC reservation.

Many organizations of the Maratha community are demanding quota from the reservation of OBCs by including the Maratha community in the entire OBC. Their demand is unconstitutional and unfair to OBCs. Sangharsh Sena has also said that they are sending a detailed statement to the Chief Minister and the administration.
