After winning the toss, KKR came out to bat first and managed to score only 84 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the scheduled over. This is the worst performance of any IPL team after playing the entire over. Earlier, this unwanted record was in the name of Kings XI Punjab, who scored 92 runs in 8 overs in 20 overs against Chennai in 2009. Mohammad Siraj and Yuzvendra Chahal bowled amazingly. Siraj took three wickets for 8 runs in 4 overs, in which he bowled two maiden overs. At the same time, Chahal took two wickets for 15 runs. Chasing the target, RCB started well, but Ferguson gave the first blow to RCB by dismissing Aaron Finch on 46 runs. After this, Devadatta Padikkal was run out after scoring 25 runs. Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 18 and Gurkeerat Singh 21 runs.
KKR scattered in front of Kohli’s arms
Earlier, KKR had a very bad start. No one had even imagined such a beginning with KKR. In the form of Rahul Tripathi, KKR got the first blow on the third ball of the second over and after this wicket, the entire KKR was shattered. Mohammad Siraj dismissed Nitish Rana on the very next ball after dismissing Tripathi. Siraj bowled his first over of the match with a double wicket maiden. After this, Navdeep Saini dismissed Shubman Gill and then on the third ball of the fourth over, Siraj dismissed Tom Banton and gave KKR the fourth blow for 14 runs. Banton Siraj became the third victim. This over was also Siraj’s maiden. Also read:
