Siraj has managed to bowl 2 consecutive maiden overs in the IPL. Mohammad Siraj bowled out Kolkata for 3 in his first two overs. Siraj also holds the record for throwing two over maidens in the IPL.

Kolkata won the toss and elected to bat first. Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli gave a chance to Mohammad Siraj instead of Shahbaz Nadeem in this match. Siraj also took advantage of this opportunity given by Virat.

In the second over of the match, Siraj took the wicket of Rahul Tripathi, after which he bowled the next ball to Nitish Rana on the first ball and took two wickets in the same over.
