Abu Dhabi, October 18: On the cricket field, players are often talked about because of their quirky looks. But in the IPL (IPL 2020) match between Kolkata (KKR) and Hyderabad (SRH), the umpire caught everyone’s attention because of his look. The hairstyle of umpire West Girish Pathak, who came on the field for this match, will embarrass a rockstar. However, Pathak’s hairstyle went viral on social media. Rashid Khan was not even born when Umpire Pathak cut his last hair.

West Girish Pathak was born on December 17, 1976 in Maharashtra. Pathak has been umpiring in 8 IPL matches since 2014. She also officiated two women’s ODIs in 2012.

Helmet worn during the match

He first came into the spotlight in 2015 when he wore a helmet while umpiring. West Girish Pathak was the first Indian umpire to wear a helmet during the match. During the Ranji Trophy match, Pathak stood on the square leg when umpire John Ward hit the ball.

After the accident, Pathak was also wearing a helmet during the Vijay Hazare Trophy match between Kerala and Haryana. “After the death of Phil Hughes and an umpire on the field, we came to umpire for safety,” Pathak said.
