Aizawl: In Mizoram, the first death due to Corona Virus occurred on Wednesday. It was till now the only state where no one died due to infection. A health official said that a 62-year-old man succumbed to infection at a hospital near Aizawl.
Hospital superintendent Dr. HC Laldina told PTI-language that the patient was undergoing treatment at Government Joram Medical College for 10 days. He told that the patient living in Aizawl was also suffering from heart disease. The first case of infection in Mizoram was reported on 24 March. Kovid-19 is tolerant no fortnight since October 26 in the state, while a lockdown has been imposed in Aizawl Municipal Corporation area to prevent transmission cases locally.
The statewide campaign will run till November 9, while the lockdown is to be ended from Aizawl on November 3 at 4:30 in the morning. Health officials said that from October 1, 34 per cent of the patients of Kovid-19 were those with no symptoms. In Mizoram, on Wednesday, 80 more patients with corona virus were confirmed. These include 27 school students and 11 military personnel. After this, the total cases have reached 2607, although 2,212 corona patients have recovered and returned home.
