29 bodies were found in a pit in the state of Jalisco in western Mexico.

According to media reports, Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office said that 29 bodies were removed from a pit in El Mirador.

The Institute of Forensic Sciences of Jalisco reported that four bodies had been identified as belonging to those who were still investigating the rest.

It is estimated that the vast majority of casualties are linked to cartel violence.

As the investigation is launched, the “Jalisco New Generation cartel”, known as one of the country’s largest criminal organizations, is blamed for several attacks.
