MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian President Vladimir Putin invited his Argentine couple, Alberto Fernandez, to visit Russia, possibly next year, the president of the International Committee of the Russian Senate, Konstantin Kosachov, who represented Russia at the Fernandez investiture on December 10.

"As for the meeting with President Fernandez, I, as a special representative of the Russian president, conveyed his personal congratulations, which were also previously conveyed in writing, and expressed the hope that it will be possible in the near future, perhaps the year that comes, organize an official visit of President Fernandez to Russia, "he said.

According to the Russian senator, "Mr. Fernandez accepted this invitation with gratitude and asked to convey to the President of Russia that he would do everything possible to take advantage of this invitation," Kosachov said.
The senator also said that the president of Argentina held "a separate but brief meeting" with the Russian delegation.
"We were also received by Vice President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, who found time for separate meetings only for two delegations, ours and that of China," he said.

Kosachov added that he gave Kirchner the invitation of Russian Senate President Valentina Matvienko to visit Russia.
