While Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Saad Hariri has announced his support for engineer Samir al-Khatib to head the next government, the landscape remains unclear within the Future Movement.

It is true that Hariri named Khatib orally during a conversation with journalists yesterday, after receiving the Progressive Socialist Party Chairman Walid Jumblatt, but he did not issue a written statement confirming Khatib's support, in light of parliamentary sources from the Future Movement to "Sputnik" that the parliamentary bloc has not yet decided Who will be called to head the government.

The positions of these sources intersect with the statements of former prime ministers that there is nothing new in the formation of the government while maintaining their support for Hariri to head the next government.

Outgoing Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri announced yesterday his support for Lebanese businessman Samir Khatib to head the next Lebanese government, stressing that he will not participate in it.

"I support Samir Khatib, but some details remain, and I will not participate in the government," Hariri said in remarks carried by the Future Web site on Tuesday after a meeting between Hariri and Walid Jumblatt.

Earlier, Prime Minister Saad Hariri urged Prime Minister Michel Aoun to hold consultations to nominate a prime minister and form a new government.

In a statement, Hariri said he was committed to the "not me, but anyone else" rule to form a government that would emulate the aspirations of young men and women.
