Joint naval exercises with Russia and China: Iran announces date

Iran will conduct joint naval exercises with Russia and China at the end of the month, according to Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi.

"The joint exercises of Iran, China and Russia, code-named 'Marine Security Belt', will take place on December 27," said the naval commander at a meeting with Deputy Chinese Chief of Staff Shao Yuanming in Tehran. The news agency Fars quoted him on Tuesday.
Previously, the plans of the three states had been reported to conduct joint naval exercises in the Indian Ocean.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in October that Russia, Iran and China were preparing joint naval exercises to counter terrorism and piracy.
