BERLIN (Sputnik) – An administrative tribunal in Frankfurt, Germany, favorably resolved the lawsuit filed by a company claiming the right to export war material to Saudi Arabia despite the embargo decreed by the German Government, a press release is available Sputnik.
"The administrative tribunal lifted the export ban due to a formal error … The court declared the withdrawal of the export permit invalid due to insufficient argumentation," as explained in the bulletin.
The plaintiff was a company that had signed an agreement to supply 110 armored vehicles to Saudi Arabia.
The company delivered 20 vehicles until October 2018 and then the export permit was withdrawn due to the arms embargo on Saudi Arabia.
The court ruled that the withdrawal of the permit had no legal basis. The ruling has not yet entered into force and can be appealed in a higher court.
