MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a telegram to his Albanian counterpart, Ilir Meta, to convey his condolences for the many victims and material damage caused by the earthquake that struck the country.
"Our deep condolences for the numerous victims among the population and major damage caused by the earthquake in their country," says the text of the telegram published on the Kremlin website.
The note indicates that the Russian leader conveyed words of condolence and encouragement to the relatives and loved ones of the deceased, as well as wanted a speedy recovery to all those affected by the natural disaster.
On the night of November 25 there was an earthquake of magnitude 6.4 near the Albanian capital, Tirana.
According to seismologist data, after the first shake there were several aftershocks of magnitude greater than 5.
According to the latest balance, the natural disaster resulted in 27 dead and 657 injured, while a total of 45 people were rescued under the rubble.
