Modern diplomacy with the golden bricks of Tehran


Tehran Golden Globe Award is recognized as Iran's only Urban Development and Management Reference Award, which is awarded annually to the world's most efficient and influential executives, citizens, and planners from around the world on the occasion of World Cities Day.

This year's celebration was held in partnership with the United Nations and its humanitarian component, Tehran Municipality and other civic organizations, cities and countries of Moscow, Athens, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Nabrobi, Baalbek, Denmark, Hindu Germany in this prestigious competition. They received awards.

Mr. Seyyed Abbas Mousavi, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, told the Sputnik correspondent in Tehran on the importance of emerging cities and diplomacy:

We were very pleased with the initiative to engage with this award, which used to be diplomacy for war and peace long ago, but today there are issues such as human development, poverty alleviation, international challenges such as the environment and counter-terrorism. Under the umbrella of diplomacy, modern diplomacy today, with the help of traditional diplomacy to tackle new problems created in societies, is undoubtedly the most important actor at the domestic and global level of public opinion today, which has an important role in determining the fate of society and politics.

Mr. Mohsen Hashemi Rafsanjani, head of the Islamic Council of Tehran, also told the Sputnik correspondent in Tehran about the types of diplomacy:

We have two types of diplomacy, one of which is the classical diplomacy that our State Department is particularly skilled at, and the other is public diplomacy that uses other methods to serve the interests of the countries, media diplomacy that uses public opinion, civil diplomacy, and A city is all about public diplomacy.

Mr. Gholamhossein Mohammadi, head of the Tehran Municipality's Center for Communication and International Relations at the Golden Clay Awards ceremony, said:
