Extending US National Emergency Situation Against Iran

The state of national emergency over Iran has been renewed for another year and continues to exert pressure on Iran.

According to Sputnik, the President of the United States on November 14, 1979 issued Executive Order 12170, declaring a state of emergency for Iran. Continue November 2019.

Former US President Jimmy Carter issued an executive order November 14, 1979, 10 days after the US embassy in Tehran. Under this decree, all Iranian assets are confiscated on American soil.

Also, Executive Order 12957 was issued by the Bill Clinton administration on March 15, 1995, prohibiting Iranian oil transactions.

The White House said in a statement that the current state of emergency imposed by Executive Order 12170 against Iran differs from another state of emergency imposed by Decree 12957 of March 15, 1995 against Tehran. The new White House action differs from the March 12 emergency extension.
