Scientists from Queen's Belfast University found that coffee consumption halves the risk of developing liver cancer.

Research found that people who love ground or instant coffee are 50 percent less likely to have hepatocellular carcinoma, the most common form of liver cancer than those who do not drink coffee.

It was noted that volunteers who consumed coffee smoked and consumed more alcohol than others, and the cholesterol rate was higher, but this did not increase the chance of developing cancer. However, this group was not susceptible to diseases such as diabetes, cirrhosis, gallstones and stomach ulcers.

According to the researchers, the positive effect of coffee on the organism is due to its high content of antioxidants and caffeine. However, scientists reminded that malignant tumors can primarily prevent healthy lifestyles.

One of the researchers is Kim Tu Tran, a graduate research student at Queen's Belfast University Public Health Center. “Consume coffee; It does not protect you against liver cancer as much as quitting, cutting alcohol or losing weight ” said.
