At least 350 people were killed in Iraq after the protests, Prime Minister Abdulmehdi resigned to Parliament


Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdulmehdi has formally submitted his resignation to Parliament.

According to an official from the Iraqi Assembly, Abdulmehdi's resignation petition was received by the Assembly.

He said Parliament is expected to meet tomorrow to discuss the Prime Minister's request for resignation and the violence in the Zikar province.

Abdulmehdi, in a written statement yesterday, the Shiite religious authority Ali es-Sistani'nin "country to chaos dragged" by complying with the call to resign from the presidency of the government said it would send the official petition.

In protests against unemployment, corruption and lack of public service in Iraq, more than 350 people were killed and more than 15,000 were injured so far.

In Iraq, security forces intervened in anti-government demonstrations in Zikar and Najaf province, killing 8 people and injuring 43 people yesterday.
