Turkey Statistical Institute (TSI) for the year 2018. Institutional Sector Accounts' has released a bulletin. Accordingly, non-financial companies made the highest contribution to the added value created in the overall economy.
While 57.8 percent of the total value added was produced by these companies, the ratio was 58.1 percent in 2017.
This sector was followed by households with 27.3 percent, general government with 11.5 percent and financial companies with 3.4 percent.
Gross National Product (GNP) increased by 19.5 percent in 2018 compared to the previous year 3 trillion 665 billion 901 million 664 thousand pounds, while the ratio of total gross savings to GDP in 2018 was 27 percent for the total economy.
This rate was 12.5 percent for non-financial companies, 9.2 percent for households, 3.7 percent for financial companies and 1.6 percent for the general government.
The saving rate, which is defined as the ratio of household savings to disposable income, was calculated as 13.9 percent in 2018 from 15.1 percent in 2017. While the ratio of total economy borrowing to GDP was minus 5.5 percent in 2017, it was minus 2.5 percent last year.
