At the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADEX), the first model of a new generation of South Korean tanks, NGMBT, has been presented. First photos of it have been published on the net.

According to the constructors in this combat vehicle, the so-called Maximum use of stealth technologies, Due to its shape and the use of special materials, the South Korean novelty for ground and aerial radar stations and thermal imaging cameras difficult to recognize,

In addition, this tank should be 20 tons lighter than the main battle tanks of the type K1A1 (53 tons) and K2 (55 tons), also known as the "Black Panther", with which the ground forces of South Korea are armed.

But the presentation had caused a mixed reaction among military experts. Many faced a direct imitation of ideas previously used by Polish and German designers.

For example, six years ago at a deployment in Kielce, Poland, a running model of the "combat vehicle of the future" PL-01, which looks like a true twin brother of NGMBT, was shown for the first time. The differences would only be in small details.

The German arms company Rheinmetall also had a similar development. The design of its tanks provide pronounced aerodynamic shapes, the crew consists of two people.

In addition, a 120 mm electro-thermochemical cannon was intended as the main armament.

The Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADEX) is held every two years. The event aims to promote exports of the South Korean aerospace and defense industries as well as the exchange of state-of-the-art aerospace technologies.

This year, the fair will take place from 15 to 20 October at Seoul's military airfield in Seongnam. It is attended by 430 companies from 34 countries. This is the largest number of participants so far.
