French Foreign Affairs said in a statement Drian will go to Iraq to discuss the issue of the trial of ISIS held in Syria in the near future.
French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said that Jean-Yves Le Drian would meet with Iraqi and Kurdish officials to establish a judicial framework to ensure that ISIS people are tried in Iraq.
"There must be a special judicial system and we will talk to the Iraqi authorities about it," Drian told BFM. Drian said that this includes ISIS citizens who are French citizens.
In addition, a diplomat speaking to Reuters, "with the recent situation in Syria increases the risk of ISIS escape from prisons, many European countries, they (ISIS) want to be shipped to Iraq," he said.
